If you're a man who has sex with other men (MSM) -- whether or not you consider yourself gay or bisexual -- you're at risk for hepatitis A (HAV) and hepatitis B (HBV) and should consider vaccination.
Hepatitis A and hepatitis B are two serious diseases which affect the liver. They are both preventable with vaccination.
Vaccination against hepatitis A and hepatitis B is recommended for men who have sex with men by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA).
Even if you're not a man who has sex with other men, you may fall into a risk group for which vaccination is recommended.
